Dear Angeliki, It would indeed be better to check the weight on network construction. I will check why we only do it during simulation. And in any case, NEST should not crash. The thing that made it tricky to find was that the error occurred during the simulation and not when the model was created (which is the part where the problematic synaptic connections were established).
