Thanks for writing in. Which version of NEST are you trying to install? The link you shared points to v2.18, which is an old version. The latest version is 3.8, and the documentation for that is: https://nest-simulator.readthedocs.io/en/stable/installation/user.html#macos...
Regarding the helpdesk, the documentation must also be built with the command “make html”. More information here: https://nest-simulator.readthedocs.io/en/stable/ref_material/pynest_api/nest...

I met struggles while trying to install NEST on my MacOS Sonoma v. 14.7.6 (Intel).

And the second one is that even when I try to install NEST as it is, without PyNEST, then, after a seemingly successful installation I cannot launch neither 'helpindex' nor 'helpdesk' commands. I guess that occurs because the installation goes wrong at some stage, but I have no idea what to check and how to fix it.
